Capt Rob from Operation Splash gave an eye-opening presentation on the current polluted Reynolds Channel at Greendrinks. Len Torres, Long Beach City Councilman, and New City Manager Jack Shnirman, attended and were astounded at the previous administrations lack of concern for the channell and the dumping of raw sewage coming from Cedar Creek. In attendance, were members of Operation Splash - An environmental group who are pushing Nassau County Legislators to present and pass the counties first "Spill Bill" which is now going to be part of New York State. Its a disappointment for some members who thought our very own legislators would pass this bill here in Nassau. Speaking from Operation Splash were Scott Bochner, who first brought this issue to light saying that the bill would go before the state senate and get passed there. Also in attendance were John Zator, a residential auditor and new partner to The Green Project of Long Island, Empower Solar, sponsor to Greenfest and Partner to Green Project. We must continue to spread the messages of Green throughout Long Island, especially environmental projects such as these that threaten the fish life in the waters on Reynolds Channell. If you are a concerned citizen and want action, log on to Operation Splashs website and put word into action. More information will come in our blogs and news events. Thank you to Capt Rob for his informative presentation, City Manager Jack for getting on this case and researching on how we can get grants to clean up the channell, Councilman Torres for being a voice in the community and concerned about this ongoing problem, Starbucks for hosting this event. And the many who came out not just to mingle but to show their support of Green.

Our next Greendrinks will be in March at Lolas Wine and Bar.
