Earthkeepers--last call for participants
Our summer flyer is on our website! http://www.starflowerexperiences.org/summer11.pdf
Earthkeepers is an amazing program for young people just finishing 4th or 5th grade. Earthkeepers are now being trained in many countries around the world. This will be at Sweet Hollow Hall, West Hills County Park, Melville. There is still room, but let us know right away as there are things that must be sent out ahead.
Green Living Seminars
Starflower Experiences holds monthly Green Living Seminars the 2nd Thursday of each month (except July and August) from 7-9 pm. We want to help people think about their life choices and their impact on the earth and learn about ways they can personally lessen their impact. Come and learn how to live a more environmentally-friendly lifestyle. These are held at the Melville Branch of the Half Hollow Hills Library at 510 Sweet Hollow Road, directly across from the Sunquam School.
September 8: Sunshine is Free
David Grinere of Alternative Energy Systems will help you understand solar, the existing incentive programs, and the impact solar can make to the environment and the family budget. The best thing about sunshine is that it is absolutely free and we can count on the sun rising every day to provide solar energy. Conversion of solar energy to electricity is economical and a properly designed and installed solar (photovoltaic) electric system will generate zero emission electricity virtually maintenance free for more than 30 years. Forward thinking home owners and business managers are focused on reducing their impact on the environment, and reducing the sky-rocketing cost of energy. Renewable solar energy is a perfect fit, and here are just a few great reasons why:
- Solar is the only true zero emission energy source and its free.
- Solar systems can offer a guaranteed high return on investment.
- Employing clean renewable energy reduces or eliminates your electric costs for life
- Rebates and tax credit pay for more than 70% of the initial system cost.
