Environmental Report: Ride a Bike instead of driving a car. We have teamed up with C.U.R.B. to promote bike riding and cut our carbon blue print on the air we breathe and the sands of our beaches and bayfronts. We encourage our friends to make a difference this earth day and everyday. We look forward to seeing more people on the 13th of August.

  • Citizens United to Remove Barriers (C.U.R.B.) is a local, non-profit organization that helps give the physically challenged a chance to live a life free of barriers. Volunteers install wheelchair ramps and lifts in and around the homes of those in need.

The 8th Annual C.U.R.B. Bike Ride (not race) is kicking off this year at St. Ignatius Martyr Church. The bike ride is approximately 12 miles long and this year for the first time ever, there will be FULL police assistance in keeping the ride safe.

Every year this ride has been held in memory of the founder and former president of C.U.R.B., Jim Conlon, who sadly passed away in August 2004.

The ride is a tour of Long Beach via bicycle. The Canals, the West End, and of course the spectacular boardwalk are all points of this 12 mile route.

The 8th Annual C.U.R.B. Bike Ride will end at the Long Beach Recreation Center, where there will be complimentary hot dogs, hamburgers, pizza, soda and water for all participants.

So break out that mountain bike, cruiser or unicycle, and get ready for LONG BEACH'S ONE AND ONLY BIKING EVENT.
