Greenfest 2011 Recap

Greenfest 2011 was a very successful launch into LETS GET GREEN! It was held on May 21, 2010 at Kennedy Plaza in Long Beach, NY. We had 40 Vendors and 3 bands in total including The Long Beach Farmers Market & Art in the Plaza. Some 2000 people attended and were educated in Green areas of Solar Energy, Healthy Eating, Home Living & Eco-Products for every day living. You can't have a good Greenfest without thanking all our vendors, sponsors and people who helped make Greenfest 2011 a huge success. The 2010 Vendors returned with a vengence to overcome the bad weather from the October event and get their messages of Green to the public. And they did. Thank you to all who texted the words GREENFEST to 90210. You can still be added to our mailing list by doing this. Thank you to our Premiere Sponsors of 2011: Empower Solar, David Schieren & Crew and Takagi/A.O. Smith Tankless Hot Water Heaters, Rich Santoro were at Greenfest to answer all your questions about what makes solar energy work and having a tankless hot water heater in your home and how inexpensive it is.

Alan Richartz from Mortgage Enterprise (DIAMOND SPONSOR 2010) was once again at GreenFest showcasing many 203k programs from FHA and energy efficient mortgages. Scott Perry & his parents Mr. Mrs Perry from IAQ Technology & TP Exterminators, (Sponsor of Seating) was on tap to provide their insights into mold detox and healthy environment of the home. Synergy Fitness of Long Beach was ready to offer gym memberships and training for all of you guys and girls who are thinking about revisiting gym options. 9B Threads manufactured the Green Bags. Project Challenge, The Long Beach Lions Club and Long Beach Breast Cancer who highlighted what they do for Green by recycling old glasses, cell phones and help victims of breast cancer get back to a normal lifestyle. Dr. Patrick McManus & his Beach Babies (DIAMOND SPONSOR 2010) highlighted Stem cells, cord blood and healthy ways to help pregnant women at Greenfest. The Long Beach Farmers Market was there with their vendors providing healthy eating. Thank you to the sounds of BOBBY BLUES & His band. What great music and an original titled Greenfest. Also on hand, was Prudy who displayed Tupperware to help you preserve veggies and fruits. Greenfest takes a lot of planning, talking and negotiating, getting sponsors and asking people for a lot of support. People are generous and kind for a cause. This was about spreading the message of Green and taking this message beyond Long Beach into the reaches of Long Island and we did a good job of doing just that.
