As Winter bears down on us once again. It is important to remember that the snow as wonderful as it is, is and remains a haven for toxic chemicals to harm our environment and our waters. Taking refuge from the snow by using harmful ice melts get into our streets and wash down our storm drains and sewer lines. These impediments eventually get to our waters, all waters including our drinking water. Be vigilant when you snow shovel. Remove all snows from storm drains and anywhere where dirty snow might get into the water we drink, or the waters of our oceans and bays.
Use ice melt that is natural and will not harm the environment. Any suggestions or comments we welcome to help and assist those who need our suggestions as to what to do. Thank you.
