As the year comes to a close, we reflect here at The Green Project of Long Island on what we leave behind and what we take into the new year on an enviromental, ecological, home living and healthy eating scope. The Green Project of Long Island launched The Green Seminar Series in Long Beach and throughout Nassau County. We spoke at various civic and charitable organizations on various topics that effect everyday living. Our partnerships with LIPA & National Grid proved to be successful as we will continue to press these two power authorities to increase their rebates to all of our Long Island people. We thank LIPA and National Grid for providing green materials at all our seminars and events. Thank you to our new partners Eco-Solutions and LIME LIFE for helping us launch our new Green Seminar Series in 2011. We will welcome back our Greenfest Sponsors of 2010 when we host a 2nd annual Greenfest (date, time and place to be announced soon). Thank you to GreenstreetLI for providing the press and Natural Awakenings Magazine for your promotion of our organization.
With disasters like BP and the recent storms that have plagued the north east and the west coast, its no wonder that people are questioning what is being done to help mother earth prevent such global warmings or coolings. Call it whatever you like, we are in trouble. Doing one small thing to create a sustainable earth, is not enough. Every effort we make to create a GREENER earth is one more step toward preventing these disasterous events. In our own back yard of Long Island, we must take bolder steps toward educating all in the areas of solar, wind and Home Living. We saw bold steps in Healthy Living from Jamie Olivers food revolution, but thats not enough to put a lens on this in our own schools here on long island. Therefore, its needless to say, we at The Green Project will be working harder to provide an awareness in all facets of daily living. I cannot thank the many supporters of the project and the partnering sponsors who have taken their time this year to be in our Green Seminar Series.
We will work with organizations like The SurfRider Foundation, Sustainable Long Island, The United Green Builders Council to name a few in 2011. We will make an even greater impact in peoples lives, educate our politicians in the City of Long Beach to Glen Cove, Valley Stream to Wantagh, Massapequa to Babylon. Hicksville to the Hamptons. The Green Project of Long Island will be the source and the basis for Green in 2011. We cannot sit idly by and wait for more BP's and LNG's to happen. We have to work to ensure that every citizen here on Long Island is at peace in the knowing that we worked together always to make a difference in our quality of living here on Long Island.
Thank you for your support of THE GREEN PROJECT OF LONG ISLAND
Happy New Year to All
